A ‘shelterbelt’ is defined as a ‘row of trees or shrubs planted to protect an area.’ It is not without reason that our firm is named after an idea rather than an individual. For us, it’s not about the ego of the individual, but instead about the idea of providing good service. ShelterBelt Design is committed to protecting the land by in- tention; a down-to-earth and humble firm comprised of and associated with individuals that believe in the power of architecture to shape the world as a whole. We have the power to do good. Collectively, we commit to use every touchpoint, interaction, engagement, and experience with our employees, our team, our marketing, our work, our social encounters, and beyond as opportunities to learn and grow. We commit to stay nimble, adap- tive, and resilient as we navigate the open-ended nature of design.

At ShelterBelt Design, we see Standard of Care in the architectural profession in particular as both an ethical and legal duty to exercise a premiere level of care, diligence, and skill in our work.

Our Standard of Care is our reputation. We acknowledge that reputation is earned. We commit to being consistent, thoughtful, and expedient to best of our abilities in everything we do in pursuit of quality; quality of life, quality of design, quality of care.
