entertainment / arts district of commerce city

Commerce City, once known as the major industrial hub northeast of Denver, is now undergoing a favorable transformation and can officially say 'au revoir' to the days of being a manufacturing wasteland. ShelterBelt is pleased to be working on an unequaled project of rezoning and revamping what use to be a tow truck company right in the "Gateway" of Commerce City. This site is located between Dick's Sporting Goods Park and Downtown Denver - complete with views of the mountain range to the west and in close proximity of the DIA and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Park to the east. The new owner wants to turn this barren gravel lot into a social center that will include retail, music, art, car shows, flea markets, and so much more. We are excited to be right at the cusp of this change, helping to heavily influence future designs and projects of this emerging new city. The architecture for this project is expected to break ground in 2017, though the music events, flea markets, and car shows have already begun.
